Kenyan ruling party presidential nomination postponed

NAIROBI, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- The Kenyan ruling KANU party announced here Wednesday that its much-awaited presidential nomination will be held on Oct. 12 instead of Oct. 8 that had been previously announced.

Addressing a press conference in Nairobi, KANU Secretary General Raila Odinga said the National Delegates Conference (NDC) would be held in Nairobi's Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani.

He said that on Oct. 8, NDC would be transformed into the Presidential Nomination Council (PNC) to pick Kanu's presidential candidate.
