University student killed in road clash with presidential convoy
KAMPALA, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- A Makerere University student was
killed on Monday after his car collided head-on with an Ugandan
Presidential Protction Unit (PPU) convoy on the Kampala-Entebbe
highway, the New Vision newspaper reported on Tuesday.
Deo Mpagi, said to be a student of Makerere University Business
School based in Nakawa, a Kampala suburb, was driving in long line of
cars from Entebbe when the accident occurred.
Two PPU officers, Lt. Kamyuka and his driver Pte. Christopher
Amari, occupants in the lead car, were critically injured and were
rushed to the nearby Kisubi Missionary Hospital.
