-- Hanover Coach Chris Pace said he was not only expecting extra
innings against second-ranked Stone Bridge in Saturday's Virginia AAA
championship game, but that his entire team was hoping for it.
The Hawks (26-2) got their wish and excelled for the second
straight game, scoring three runs in the eighth for a 3-0 victory to
claim the first team championship in the school's three-year history.
The Hawks advanced to the title game by posting four runs in the
ninth inning on Friday to defeat Great Bridge, 6-2.
"Extra innings always plays to our favor because we've got two
