US Voter News Service drops exit poll plans

WASHINGTON, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- United States Voter News Service (VNS) announced on Tuesday it had canceled its planned state and national election night exit polls, saying it could not guarantee the accuracy of the analysis of the midterm elections.

VNS said in a statement it was not satisfied with the system that would have been used to analyze Tuesday's exit poll and would not publish the results of state and nation wide surveys of voter attitudes.

VNS, a consortium of ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Fox and The Associated Press, counts actual votes and also conducts exit polling in certain precincts. The data is used by its members to project ...
