Armed "air marshals" to be used on British passenger flights

LONDON, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- specially trained armed undercover police officers would be used on British passenger flights, Transport Secretary Alastair Darling confirmed on Thursday.

It is seen as part of an ongoing series of measures to tackle terrorist threats to British aircraft.

The news came after a senior government source said there was a "high probability" that international terrorists would sooner or later launch an attack on Britain.
