Overall Thai corporate performance improves this year

BANGKOK, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- Overall corporate performance has improved this year as could be witnessed by many companies' ability to resume paying annual bonuses to staff, according to a report of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) available Monday.

FTI chairman Prapat Photivorakul said it was likely most companies would be able to pay an equivalent of at least one-month salary in annual bonuses to their staff.

Many companies, particularly automakers, have enjoyed an increase in sale turnover this year. Some firms have increased a monthly salary by 5-6 percent, which is considered high when compared with low inflation ...
