Mavericks continue winning streak

WASHINGTON, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- Dallas Mavericks extended their season-opening winning streak to 13-0 as they beat the Seattle SuperSonics 115-105 Saturday night.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 29 points to lead the hosts Mavericks.

The Mavericks are off to the fourth-best start in NBA history. The three teams ahead of them all made the NBA Finals.

Dallas will try matching the 14-0 start by Boston in 1957-58 when it plays at Detroit on Wednesday. The Mavs could be going for the record of 15-0 set by Washington in 1948-49 and tied by Houston in 1993-94 on Thursday at Indiana.
