US chip maker giant kicks off advertising blitz

LOS ANGELES, March 3 (Xinhua) - The world's largest chip maker Intel Corp. on Monday kicked off an 11-country advertising blitz for its Centrino mobile and wireless products, ahead of scheduled product introduction on March 12 in New York City.

Intel said it will spend more money on the ad campaign, designed to promote the Centrino mobile technology, which includes the first new processor Intel specially designed for notebook computers, related chipsets and wireless network capabilities, than the 300 million US dollar one it launched for the Pentium 4 processor in 2000.
