Ferguson values Champions League more than World Cup

MADRID, Apr. 7 (Xinhua) -- Manchester United coach Alex Ferguson said on Monday the European Champions League is superior than the World Cup.

"If you look at the status in the last World Cup it doesn't come close to the Champions League in terms of entertainment, goals or excitement," Ferguson said on the eve of his side's quarter-final first-leg meeting with Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.

"I think the European Champions Cup is now bigger than the World Cup. All the best players are in Europe now."
