Roundup: Indian-Pakistani rhetoric war on "preemptive attack" moderated By Rong Shoujun

ISLAMABAD, April 20 (Xinhua) -- The shrill rhetoric war on a preemptive attack between India and Pakistan has been moderated after Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee reached out his " hand of friendship" to Islamabad.

While the US-led coalition forces were fighting fiercely to topple the Saddam regime in Iraq, tension in the subcontinent escalated as Indian Foreign Minister Yashwant Sinha stated early this month that India had a much better case to go for a preemptive action against Pakistan than the United Sates had in Iraq.
