Nine people suspected of SARS infection in Indonesia

JAKARTA, April 9 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian government announced on Wednesday that nine people are suspected of being infected with Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in the country.

"Among the 17 people suspected of SARS infection, 7 of them have returned home and another is getting fever only. We are sure these eight people are not SARS infected," said Umar Fahmi, the director general of Infecting Disease of the Indonesian Ministry of Health and Social Welfare at a press briefing here.

The director said the remaining nine people suspected of suffering from SARS were having isolation and observation treatments now.
