Afghan religious leaders call for promotion of children's rights

KABUL, May 25 (Xinhua) -- Religious leaders from across Afghanistan have urged the government to take measures to promote girls' rights to education and prevent the trafficking of children, a press release said on Sunday.

In a declaration issued at the end of a recent meeting, 110 Islamic religious leaders from the country's all 32 provinces identified 17 recommendations to the government for more support for Afghan children, according to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
