New York health personnel monitor students with close contact with SARS case

NEW YORK, May 1 (Xinhua) -- School and health officials in New York city are monitoring 40 students who came in close contact with a classmate who was hospitalized with symptoms of SARS in Westchester County, New York, local media reported Thursday.

All the 40 students at three different schools in the New Rochelle school district spent time last Saturday with the ailing teen, who traveled to Toronto during her spring break, said district medical director Dr. Adrienne Weiss-Harrison.

Officials said the students being monitored for the virus attend New Rochelle high schools and the Albert Leonard and Isaac Young ...
