Roundup: Indonesia ready to bid byebye to IMF

JAKARTA, May 9 (Xinhua) --In the wake of these years' cooperation between the Indonesian government and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Indonesia has posed to bid a farewell to the international financial institution by the end of this year.

Both Indonesia's Vice-President Hamzah Haz and Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Korodjtun Kungtjoro-Jakti have made it clear that the country has been ready to cease the IMF cooperation program when it expires by the end of 2003. They also expressed their confidence that without IMF's program, Indonesia's economy would survive and get better.
