SADC seeks fund to curb foot, mouth disease

DAR ES SALAAM, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- The Southern African Development Community (SADC) is seeking 26 million US dollars to control foot and mouth disease and other trans-boundary animal diseases in the next three years.

According to a report of SADC secretariat on Thursday, the organization has prepared a program of action to form a regional foot and mouth disease control policy, carry out mass vaccinations along the borders, and have livestock identification and movement control.
