Roundup: UNHCR, Thai govt at odds over refugee status determination

BANGKOK, July 1 (Xinhua) -- The United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) on Tuesday afternoon clarified its activities in Thailand as consented by the Thai government and in accordance with related international conventions.

"UNHCR has carried out its work in Thailand with the full consent and cooperation of the government since 1975," said the UNHCR regional office for Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam in a press release.
