A plymouth city centre multi-storey that once had to shut on
safety grounds has been chosen to feature in a calendar of Britain's
most interesting car parks - because it is so scary.
The Mayflower West Car Park may not be everyone's idea of
architectural beauty, but it represents August in the 2008 Car Parks
of Great Britain calendar, alongside such notable structures as the
M5's Gordano Service Station and Bolton Market's multi-storey.
The 668-space Mayflower West, which ironically houses Plymouth's
CCTV control room, was selected because it is 'a bit scary after
dark when the pubs shut'.
In fact publisher Kevin Beresford was terrified when he used it.
