Yearender: Algeria's national reconciliation policy challenged by bombings

ALGIERS, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- Thirty-seven people, including 17 UN staff, have been confirmed killed and more than 170 others were injured in the two car bombings striking Algeria on Tuesday morning, the worst terrorist attack the North African country has suffered in 2007.

Before this incident, six other major deadly attacks in this country this year, with three in September and the other three in February, April and July, had killed more than 96 people and injured more than 390 others.
