The Columbia Public Library is increasing its artistic flair with
donations from the Columbia Art League and Friends of the Columbia
Public Library.
The Columbia Art League wants to donate its permanent collection
of more than 100 pieces of artwork to the library because of the
library's ability to better display, art league Executive Director
Jill Stedem said.
Friends of the Columbia Public Library also have commissioned a
sculpture for the Gene Martin Secret Garden at the library.
Betty Robins, founder and first president of the Columbia Art
League, acquired the pieces - most of them during the Art in the Park
festival - and donated them to the league's permanent collection.
