"We'll cook Indian!"
The words were out of my dear wife's mouth before we had time to
think. After a few glasses of wine with friends, the idea seemed
superb. But now, wewere obligated to make a meal of Indian food for a
party of eight.
We love Indian food. We celebrate life's small victories at an
Indian lunchbuffet. We have dabbled in a few easy Indian recipes.
We were not, however, remotely prepared to cook a multidish meal
of Indian flavors for eight people, one of whom attended culinary
school.
So we did what proud nerds invariably do when faced with a new
challenge: We hit the books.
We checked out several Indian cookbooks from the library and
