Over the last few months, I've had a number of friends,
acquaintances and total strangers comment that they really enjoy
reading our weekly column. Heck, I was flabbergasted - I just hoped
someone read it. How gratifying that they really liked it.
Then would come the inevitable question: "Where do you come up
with the ideas for the columns?" Well, that's a tough one. There are
only so many interesting anecdotes that come readily to mind, and
although there are myriad aspects of the culinary world that deserve
attention, most require some level of research, which can be a bit
burdensome after many hours of work and then more of child shuttling
