In the beginning, the weather was bad. Then it got plain nasty.
Playing in conditions that would have postponed the game on a
grass field, the Rock Bridge and Jefferson City girls soccer teams
battled on a wet, windy and frigid night on Rock Bridge field. As
fans scrambled to find any refuge from the weather, the Bruins and
Jays did their best to stay warm by running and jumping in place
whenever the ball went out of bounds.
Staying dry, however, was out of the question in Jefferson City's
2-0 victory.
"That was probably the coldest and rainiest any of us have ever
played in," Rock Bridge midfielder Kelsey Eckenrode said. "The ball
bounces weird, and we came out flat, so that didn't help at ...
