With his team reeling from a dual-meet loss to Jefferson City in
its regular season finale last week, Ben Loeb decided to map out the
Rock Bridge tennis team's playoff itinerary right then and there.
Win the district in Camdenton. Win a team regional dual. Knock off
Glendale in sectional play. Meanwhile, Jefferson City would beat
Joplin, setting up a grudge match between the Jays and Bruins in the
quarterfinals with nothing less than than a trip to the state
tournament on the line.
And Loeb told his team that even after two 5-4 losses, the third
time would be the charm against its tormentor, the same team that
snapped Rock Bridge's 61-match home winning streak in early April.
