As we've grown accustomed to in Columbia through the years,
sometimes it takes awhile for the finest cinematic ventures to reach
our movie screens.
Ragtag and its True/False Film Festival certainly have changed the
landscape, bringing to town a bevy of big-name indie and foreign
films that otherwise might not ever have made it to Mid-Missouri.
And, in the case of True/False, we're granted the extra benefit of
witnessing world-class documentaries often long before others
elsewhere have the chance to, if they ever do.
As last year's Cannes Film Festival Palme d'Or winner, "The Wind
That Shakes the Barley," finally opens this weekend at Ragtag, the
