I have several issues to address.

I just returned from working on our city of Columbia Adopt-A- Spot. This program is run by the city and works with volunteers and organizations to beautify various medians throughout town. We have had our Happy Tails spot on Nifong for four to five years. Our spot is on a very busy intersection, and it takes a lot of work to keep it looking nice - weeding, hauling water, fertilizing, trimming and laying down new mulch every year.

Today I stopped by to pull a few weeds that had crept through. To my dismay, there were beer bottles, trash, soda cans and cigarette butts all around. Plus those weather-worn garage sale signs were taped on the stop signs and ...
