Article: Good news for Airbus at long last

Bosses at aerospace giant Airbus insisted the future was bright for its worried staff after announcing a deal had been agreed with UK firm GKN to take over wing manufacturing operations at its plant near Bristol.

The crucial deal has eased fears that 600 jobs could be lost at the Filton plant.

Airbus had been locked in negotiations with GKN and US rival Spirit AeroSystems over a deal to find a new risk sharing partner for a composite materials factory.
