DARTMOUTH, NOVA SCOTIA--(CCNMatthews - April 29, 2005) - The
Honourable Geoff Regan, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans Canada
(DFO), today announced that stakeholders, Aboriginal groups and
provincial governments will be asked to comment on a renewed approach
to managing wild Atlantic salmon.
DFO will present a draft framework to aid discussions, and broad
consultations will take place across Atlantic Canada and Quebec. The
initial consultations will begin in May.

importance for Canadians in Atlantic Canada and Quebec, as well as
