Article: Management Of Golf Courses Changes Hands; Report Says Four Lost $500,000 Last Year

Montgomery County's park and planning agency took a major step last week toward ending its management of four county golf courses it operated for 40 years.

But at least two planning board members are worried about the long-term impact on low-cost public recreation. Adding to their concerns was a report that showed the Montgomery County Revenue Authority, which has been managing the courses on a temporary basis since April, does not appear to have complied with some federal environmental regulations.
