HUNTINGTON - The Marshall-Florida football coaching connection has
come full circle.
Ed Zaunbrecher, Marshall's offensive coordinator for the past two
seasons and a Herd assistant for the past three, Wednesday accepted
the offensive coordinator position at the University of Florida. He
fills the vacancy left when Gators head coach Steve Spurrier - who
served as his own offensive coordinator - resigned Friday.
Ron Zook, the former New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator who
was named Spurrier's successor Wednesday, contacted Zaunbrecher late
Tuesday night and Zaunbrecher accepted the position Wednesday.
