BEFORE having open-heart surgery, Mayme Hopkins made a phone call. "I called Millie from the emergency room to let her know I couldn't be in," Hopkins said. The 50-year-old Logan resident knew she couldn't miss a Weight Watchers meeting without telling anyone. After all, she was the group leader.

"I said, 'Millie, I'm going to have surgery and I can't teach my meeting.' That's how important Weight Watchers is to me."
