The last person seen with a Vermont college student found slain
last week told police he lent his cellphone to the Arlington County
woman and walked a few blocks with her but then "never saw her
again," according to court records filed yesterday.
Brian Rooney told police he had nothing to do with the
disappearance or slaying of Michelle Gardner-Quinn, 21, who was
reported missing Oct. 7 when she did not show up for a planned
dinner with her parents. Her body was discovered Friday, six days
later, near a popular swimming hole about 15 miles east of the
University of Vermont's Burlington campus.
Gardner-Quinn, a senior majoring in Latin American studies and
environmental science, disappeared ...
