Jurors were prejudiced against a former Nitro minister because
they saw pictures that suggested the idea of a homosexual
relationship, a lawyer for Michael Flippo argued before the state
Supreme Court on Wednesday.
But lawyer Ira Mickenberg admitted in his presentation to the
justices that there was enough evidence, even without the pictures,
to convict Flippo of murder in the death of his wife, Cheryl.
Flippo, who is serving a sentence of life without mercy, wants a
new trial. Flippo was pastor of the Landmark Church of God in Nitro
at the time he was arrested, but the West Virginia State Executive
Offices for the Church of God later revoked his credentials as a ...
