lead to heart disease and diabetes. But only one-quarter of them
realize that those extra pounds contribute to many forms of cancer.
Thats why the American Cancer Society and Weight Watchers are teaming
up to sponsor the first-ever Great American Weigh In on March 5. Its
modeled after the Cancer Societys Great American Smokeout, when
smokers are asked to try to kick the habit, if only for one day.
Being overweight has been linked to cancers of the breast, colon,
endometrium, prostate, kidney, esophagus and thyroid, according to
