State basketball tournament fans got a three-for-one deal Thursday
afternoon.
Or, rather, a No. 3-for-No. 1 deal.
Football star Brandon Barrett and teammates Robert Clise and
Durrell Johnson made key plays in the waning moments to lift third-
ranked Martinsburg to a 47-42 victory over top-ranked Spring Valley
in the Class AAA quarterfinals at the Civic Center.
Barrett, a junior who won the Kennedy Award for Martinsburg, led
his team in scoring with 13 points, but a more telling stat rested on
Spring Valley's side. Timberwolves' Brandon Moore, perhaps the top
candidate for player of the year honors, was held to 14 ...
