The blood-alcohol level of a Charleston man charged with driving
under the influence and causing death was more than double the legal
limit, according to the St. Albans Police Department.
While traveling west on U.S. 60 in St. Albans on Thursday, John K.
Black, 42, struck the vehicle of 77-year-old Dorris E. Caplinger, who
was driving eastbound, police said.
Black turned left without yielding to traffic, police said, and
collided with Caplinger shortly after 3 p.m.
Tests show that Black's blood-alcohol level was at .204 percent,
