Article: Civic Center officials mull selling facility naming rights

The Charleston Civic Center may begin selling the naming rights of portions of its facilities to corporate sponsors, officials said Friday.

The Civic Center would hire a consultant to determine how much money they could get for the naming rights of different sections of the facility. Areas could include the Little Theater, coliseum or the exhibit area, said John Robertson, Civic Center general manager.

"It would be our preference not to sell the entire name of the Civic Center, but we're open to anything," Robertson said.
