Fox Trot Freddie is ready.
The oversize "catfish" is ready to greet young anglers at Fox Trot
Fishing Lake in Putnam County.
The pay-to-fish lake at 475 Poplar Fork Road in Scott Depot opened
in 2001 and recently added a children's lake that is stocked with
catfish and hybrid bluegill, said Carolyn Rabalais, sister of the
lake's owner, Everett Daily.
"The children's lake was an idea my brother thought about last
year. The small fries need a special place that is safe. We wanted
the children to feel welcome at the lake, and Everett always has a
bucket of bubblegum for the kids," Rabalais said.
The lake also recently introduced its new catfish mascot, Fox Trot
Freddie. ...
