Chris Walker is leaving his job as the president and CEO of the
Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau to help run a new statewide
business magazine.
He submitted his resignation on Oct. 22 after working for the
bureau for 12 years, he said Monday.
He said he is joining West Virginia Publishing, a newly formed
publishing company. Walker and Mike Stewart, a corporate attorney
with Spilman, Thomas & Battle, are launching West Virginia Inc. in
March. The magazine will be published every other month, and focus on
businesses throughout the state and feature articles that are geared
to helping current business owners as well as entrepreneurs starting
new businesses.
