Article: Studio offers stained glass and teaching: South Charleston vendor plans to add glass supplies

Two hobbyists and one basement workshop - someone had to move.

That someone was Philann White, whose stained glass hobby was competing for space alongside her husband David's woodworking shop.

"It was time to move out of the house," Philann said.

But the uprooted stained glass artist has found a new home and created a new business in a storefront shop in South Charleston. This Saturday, Oct. 9, White will open Bare Roots Gallery at 239 Second Ave., across the street from Evans Lumber Co.

Bare Roots Gallery will showcase White's stained glass works and also serve as a teaching studio for those wanting to learn the art of creating stained glass items. The new shop is ...
