Article: Six Louisiana National Guard killed in Iraq

HOUMA, La. - Six National Guardsmen, all from southeast Louisiana towns, were among those killed when a bomb blast struck their patrol vehicle in Iraq.

"I learned last night that six Louisiana National Guard soldiers from the 256th Infantry Brigade - and a fellow National Guardsmen from New York - were killed while on patrol outside Baghdad when a bomb destroyed their armored vehicle," Gov. Kathleen Blanco said in a news release.
