How much car insurance do I need?
For the average person, experts recommend more auto insurance than
the state's minimum requirement. It protects you financially, and it
doesn't cost that much more. But there are some coverages -
comprehensive, collision and medical payments - that you might be
able to shave from your insurance bill. Experts recommend:
Bodily injury liability $100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident
Property damage liability $50,000
Medical payments May be redundant, if you have life and health
insurance (aka "personal injury protection")
Comprehensive Limit based on car's value; may be unnecessary
on old cars that aren't worth much
