Wal-Mart is again considering Kanawha City for one of its stores, but is not considering South Charleston or Marmet for retail stores or distribution centers, a company spokesman said Wednesday.

Wal-Mart has contacted a real estate broker about a piece of property in Kanawha City, said Roderick Scott, a Wal-Mart community affairs manager. But any plans are in the very early stages, he said.

"It's far down the pipe," he said. "It's speculative at best [now]."
