AMES - Promising to be good stewards of the environment,
developers filed a zoning application in Fayette County Thursday and
launched a media campaign aimed at paving the way for their housing
complex in the New River Gorge.
Officials with LRC Holding LLC want to build more than 2,000 homes
on more than 4,000 acres for an upscale community called Roaring
River.
The same company filed virtually the same request for a zoning
change earlier this year, but withdrew the application after many
objections to their proposals, including some from National Park
Service officials who feared what it would do to the park. LRC
