Article: Md. company offers to scan Morgan County land records

BERKELEY SPRINGS - Morgan County's land records could go from being kept in a fireproof vault at the 185-year-old courthouse to being available online.

Jim Nelson, the owner of Towson, Md.-based computer archive service Image America Inc., has offered to scan the land records, at no cost to the county.

The high-tech digital scanning would be paid for by a title company client of Nelson's in exchange for a final computerized copy of the scanned images, Nelson said. The name of the client wasn't available Friday.
