Somewhere in the early 1970s, 15-year-old Kim Pauley first danced
principal roles with the Charleston Ballet. Pauley, thought to be in
her late 40s, is still the company's leading dancer. But she is also
the company's artistic director, and in that role she has to bring
along the available talent.
While she dances the leading role of the Sugar Plum Fairy in the
three public performances of "The Nutcracker" ...
