The slugfests involving the Hickory Crawdads this season are still
fresh in Steve Chapman's mind.
"Every time we play them," said Chapman, "it's like 13-12 and 15-
13. We know Hickory can swing the bat."
Chapman, the Power's left fielder who set a franchise record with
24 home runs this season, is pretty much on target in his game-score
recollections.
The season series, in fact, hit a free-swinging high-water mark on
June 12 when the Power hammered out a 24-13 victory over the Crawdads
in Hickory. The teams combined for 44 hits on that occasion.
The Power also defeated the Crawdads by such scores as 11-6, 16-
