THE June 26, 2007 op-ed commentary by Cecil Roberts, titled "An
End to Intimidation: Employee Free Choice Act would fix broken
American labor law" is both interesting and flawed.
One should be curious to know where Mr. Roberts obtained his
facts. He is entitled to his misleading opinions, but it is useful to
present the public with the real truth. As someone who works around
the men and women at the Rockspring Mine referenced in his
commentary, I thought I would relay some of the facts.
For starters, Rockspring Mine is actually located in Wayne County,
not Mingo County. Pettiness aside, there were other errors regarding
the November 2003 organizing election held at Rockspring Mine.
