TAMPA, Fla. - Well, that was fun while it lasted, wasn't it?

All the talk of undefeated seasons and a national championship.

For West Virginia it all came to a crashing and emphatic end Friday on a night that belonged to South Florida and its precocious program.

Plagued by six turnovers and playing without quarterback Patrick White for more than a half, the No. 5 Mountaineers were held in check for more than three quarters and by the time they began to play, it was too late. In front of a capacity-plus crowd of 67,018 at Raymond James Stadium, No. 18 South Florida pulled off a 21-13 upset.
