Travis Kvapil, the 2003 NASCAR Trucks Craftsman Truck Series
champion from Janesville, signed a contract Tuesday to return next
season with Roush Racing.
Although the move could be viewed as a step down after two years
in the Nextel Cup Series, Kvapil said he was eager to win races once
again and to drive for one of the top teams in the sport.
"There is nothing on paper about Cup or Busch or anything, but
down the line there could be some good opportunities, and this is
the kind of team that can give that to me," Kvapil said.
Kvapil, 30, has a top finish of 19th this season while driving ...
