Justin Furnace never doubted that his team could build a
customized state-of-the-art house in four days.
Then came the torrential rains, tornado warnings and severe
lightning. For three straight October days.
The yard turned into sloppy muck. Workers were sent to basements
of nearby homes. Work was halted.
But a family that had just lost its father to cancer was
depending on Furnace's fledgling Wauwatosa-based business. The final
result would be aired on ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," and
failure was not an option.
"I don't tackle something," Furnace said, "that I don't think we
can finish."
